Ten Legislators in Miami Earned an "A"

Today, the Florida Chamber released actual grades earned by all 160 members of the Florida Legislature on the Florida Chamber’s 2016 Legislative Report Card and announced legislators who earned Distinguished Advocate Awards in your region.

The Florida Chamber’s Distinguished Advocate award recognizes lawmakers who fought tirelessly for the passage of pro-business legislation – no matter how difficult – and furthered the Florida Chamber’s goals of securing Florida’s future through job creation and economic development.

The 14 members of the Florida Legislature honored with a 2016 Florida Chamber Distinguished Advocate award include:
  • Representative Erik Fresen, who tirelessly advocated for numerous Florida Chamber education priorities, such as expanding school choice options and empowering students with unique abilities.
According to the Florida Chamber’s 2016 Legislative Report Card:
  • 30 Senators earned an “A” – up from 20 in 2015
  • 80 Representatives earned an “A” – up from 61 in 2015, and
  • Grade Point Average for Representatives was 90 percent and 91 percent for Senators – up from 83 percent and 89 percent respectively last year.
